As a Title I school, Collins Elementary is committed to building strong partnerships between home and school to support the success of every student. One important way we strengthen this partnership is through our Parent-School Learning Compact.
The Parent-School Learning Compact outlines the shared commitments of our students, parents/guardians, teachers, principal, and Family Resource Coordinator. It serves as a guide for how we can work together to support student learning, growth, and achievement throughout the school year.
As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we are seeking input from our families to ensure the compact reflects the needs and priorities of our school community. We value your feedback and encourage you to review the compact and share your thoughts, suggestions, or recommendations.
Please use the link below to review the compact and provide feedback:

Your feedback will help us strengthen our home-school partnership and ensure that our compact continues to support student success.
Thank you for your time, input, and continued support of Collins Elementary. We appreciate the important role you play in your child's education and look forward to working together during the 2026-2027 school year.
Sincerely,
Deshae Barnhorst

It’s Time To Elect Our 2026-2027 Council Parent Members
Collins Elementary Council
04/13/2026
Dear Collins Elementary Parents:
Do you want to be involved in making decisions that impact your child at Collins? Do you want to be a representative for parents when it comes to developing policy, budgets, and meeting student needs at Collins? If so, please consider running to be a parent representative on our School Based Decision Making council!
In Kentucky, each school has a School Based Decision Making (SBDM) council composed of the principal, elected teachers, and elected parents. The council is in charge of making many of the most important decisions about how the school operates and supports student achievement. The council is a wonderful chance to learn about our school, work closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now.
Parents and principal elect the two parent members of the council who will receive training and serve from 07/01/25 to 06/30/27. These meetings are held one evening a month at the school with dates being voted on by the new council members during the first meeting in July.
If you are interested please complete the nomination form and return to the office by 4:00 PM on 05/01/26. If you know someone who would be a good candidate, please encourage that person to run. Nomination forms will come home tomorrow!
The election will be held on 05/05/26 from 8:30-4:00 in the front office. If you will have a child enrolled in our school next year, you are eligible to vote in this election. This includes parents, stepparents, and foster parents. Legal guardians are also eligible to vote if the child lives in their home. I urge every parent to participate in this important decision about the future of our children’s school.
Results will be announced on the school website and/or social media on 05/06/26.
Thank you for your interest in our school, and please let me know if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Deshae Barnhorst
